The “Tree Planting Rebate Program” was initially known as the “Arbor Day”. The Tree Planting Rebate Program is a greening project. It has been around and celebrated for over 100 years now.
This celebrates trees and green species and encourages communities around Fort St. John to plant trees in the community.
It also makes the community an even more beautiful place to live. In addition, it also brings awareness of the importance of trees and how they affect the environment in a positive way.
Many people do take for the great green environment for granted.
It is important to understand the importance of trees and the positive effects they have on the environment and the community.
They provide increased property value, remove air pollutants, increased energy savings, shade and provide a place of habitat for animals and insects.
To encourage individuals to plant a tree, the Tree Planting Rebate Program was designed. Where individuals can get up to $50.00 towards a tree or a shrub that they have purchased.
The process is also simple.
You just need to purchase a tree or a shrub that has a 1, 2 or 3 zone tag attached to it. This can be found at any retailer that carries plants.
Fill out a rebate form that you can find online.
Make sure you keep the original receipt and the tree tag that has the labeled zones to the City Hall.
Receive up to $50.00 of rebate on your City of Fort St. John homeowner utility account.
However, there are some restrictions.
For instance, the limit is only two rebates per utility account and must be purchased after January 2015.
Rebates will process the forms at City Hall May 1st to July 31st, 2015.
So make sure you get those rebate forms filled out and processed.
