Looking for employment in the Peace Region? You’re in luck because BC Hydro has announced job fairs to be held at various locations through February.
As many as 600 people will be required to take part in the main construction of the damn through to the spring.
Of particular note, are the civil works contractors who will be hiring many people at these events. They will be looking for construction professionals of all sorts including machine operators, concrete workers and general labourers.
Contractors will be on hand to answer any questions about the work that is going to be done, so even if you are not totally sold on getting a job right now, this looks to be a great opportunity to find out more about Site C employment.
This month’s job fairs can be found at Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, Fort St. John and Dawson Creek from February 16 to the 22nd. Job fairs later in the month will also be held at Quesnel, Fort Nelson, Mackenzie and Prince George.
BC Hydro will also be hosting business to business networking sessions to coincide with these job fairs. Tumbler Ridge, Mackenzie and Fort Nelson will play host to these. These are meant to allow local businesses and Peace River Hydro Partners to network with one another.
