New Mission For The Salvation Army

New Mission For The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army is based in an international Christian church; their mission statement is to “share the love of Jesus Christ, meet humans needs and to be a transforming influence in the communities of our world.”

There values lie in compassion, respect, excellence, integrity, relevance, co-operation and celebration which form the foundations of this organization.

The Salvation Army is present in 400 communities across Canada including Fort St. John and is also active in more than 125 countries worldwide.

The Salvation Army provides resources for people and communities that are struggling with poverty.

Therefore, they provide a food bank and thrift store for affordable options and even the resources when people may be at a point in their lives where they do not have anything.

A man named Sheldon Feener in Fort St. John has just taken the responsibility of being captain for one of the largest non-profit organizations in the community.

Within the five weeks that he has been working with the Salvation Army in the Fort St. John’s community; there have been many positive changes that are being noticed.

For example, restored the thrift store to make it more functional.

But this is no surprise!

This is because Sheldon Feener has been volunteering and has given back to the community for many years.

He has already worked with charities in the United States and has run a drug and alcohol rehab center.

Even though Sheldon has already made some positive changes there is still a lot more that needs to be done.

But the city of Fort St. John is blessed to have a dedicated individual apart of the community.
