A brand new booklet has been created by Employment Connections to help people in the trades fields find a job in five main career paths. The careers highlighted in the booklet include electricians, power engineers, oil and gas labours/operators, and truck drivers.
In addition to featuring these careers the booklet has a section on Site C and what occupations and demands they will have.
These particular career paths were chosen specifically because of the research done that identified the gaps in training that currently exist in the Peace region workforce.
Client service manager with Employment Connections Jeannette Karasiuk stated that “we’ve forecasted and we’ve looked at all of the areas, like where do you go to school for training, what are the tickets, what are the requirements, what are the prerequisites?” She went on to say “it’s kind of a one-stop-tool to help people in one of those five occupations.”
If you are interested in working in one of these fields and possibly work on exciting new projects such as the Site C dam then you can drop by a local Employment Connections’ office, located on 101 99 Avenue, at Northern Lights College, located on 9820 120 Avenue, or download the PDF by following this link.
